Hotel Gables played host to Lord Lytton and Lady Curzon at one point of time. The regular traveller too finds himself steeped in an ambience of regality, with Hotel Gables colonial architecture, and the attentive service. The Front Office is a perfect example, with its century - old architecture and modern facilities - 12 noon check in, travel desk, car bookings, organised sight seeing trips and almost anything else you would ask for.
Rooms with a view
You holiday because you want a break from your working routine. And that is what you find here. Indulgence carried to its extreme. Each of the 30 softly, subtly furnished rooms has channel music, central heating and hot water. We would understand perfectly if you wished to spend your entire holiday indoors.
Graceful Dining
Pampering your taste buds comes easy, with the traditional spread set out in our multi-cuisine restaurant. Dine like a King on your choice of Indian, Chinese, Tandoori or Continental food. To add a touch of old-world charm, come into the coffee shop, and nibble on the dainty snacks on offer, while sipping the best of tea. For those who prefer their spirits more reinforced, of course, there is a perfectly stocked bar.
Fun and games
To drain the tension of city life out of your system, our Fun n Games Department, (a group of people skilled in art of entertainment), has a series of body and mind revitalisers planned for you. The Resort is equipped with fitness amenities, and tennis and squash facilities can be readily arranged. You are also welcome in to join the treks, nature rambles, golf sessions or picnics organized by the Hotel. Once ia a while, even getting out for a walk in the hills can reveal soul stirring insights.
In and around Shimla
Tucked away so far from the demands of daily life, it seems appropriate to indulge in a bit quite introspection. So you may want to trek up to Jakhu temple, a Hanuman temple and catch the sunrise, or stop for a while at the beautiful stained glass window adorned Christ Church, which was built in the 1850's. Other interesting walks are to Scandal Corner, a place which found its way into Rudyard Kipling's writings, Prospect Hill, a favoured picnic spot, Annandale, once famous for its racecourse, but which hosts games of cricket and polo till today, and to Chadwick Falls, an impressive sight, especially in its post-monsoon fury.
